Biography
Saint Jerome was a priest, theologian, historian, and Doctor of the Church, best known for his Latin translation of the Bible, the Vulgate. Born into a wealthy family, he received a classical education and excelled in Latin, Greek, and Hebrew.
After a period of youthful indulgence, he experienced a profound spiritual conversion and devoted himself to asceticism, study, and translation.
